Description

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard requires a rewind of an Alternating Current (AC) motor winding in accordance with contractor NAVSEA approved Sealed Insulation System (SIS) rewind procedure certified per Reference 2.2, MIL-STD-2037. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, material, supervion and other non items non-personal services to perform an AC motor rewind as defined in the Statement Of Work. AC motor winding with SIS shall be restored per original equipment designed providing a motor winding with superior reliability by reducing wire movement within the stator slots. Upon laying of the coils, shall be wrapped/taped processed with solvetless epoxy resin through Vacuum Impregnated Procedure (VPI) and oven baked to cure followed by 24 hours fresh water submergence test. Completed winding is virtually void-free, the coils are restrained within monolithic mass and entry for envoironmental contaminants are eleimnated.
