Description

PURPOSE: The purpose of the sources sought is to identify available authorized businesses to provide for a media blasting cabinet that meets the following salient characteristics:





a) Blast Cabinet must be fully enclosed, have media recovery reclaimer, must include dust



collection, fully gasketed drum cover and hoses and nozzle



b) Small-scale footprint to reduce the need for additional construction and labor



c) Meets the American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Section



10.80.1, Figure VS-80-01 requirements of 20 air changes per minute inside of blast



cabinet



d) A motor/blower that produces 80 or less dbA



e) Ergonomic design resulting in less physical stress on the person blasting and fewer



workplace injuries



f) Minimum of 15’’X 32’’ window allowing adequate vision of part being blasted



g) Cabinet mounted turn-table to optimally position parts for inspection and re-work



h) Dustless waste removal system allowing user to safely remove and properly dispose of



media dust without ever touching dust container. Equipment must be able to fasten to Air



Force standardized waste drum. 55-gallon container with beaded rim



i) Self-adjusting, manual closing latch door. Preventing blaster door from warping and



causing media to leak



j) Fittings are made from hardened metal instead of industry standard rubber or plastic



hoses



k) Adjustable media metering valve



l) Air water separator to keep moisture out of the dry media



m) Bright cabinet lighting to quickly identify areas requiring additional work



n) Company works hand in hand with U.S. Air Force Corrosion Prevention and Control

REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the U.S. Air Force, 92d Contracting Squadron, Fairchild AFB, WA. This sources sought is seeking to identify responsible potential sources to furnish a Media Blasting Cabinet.







ANTICIPATED NAICS/SIZE STANDARD: This requirement falls under the NAICS Code of 333248 with a size standard of 750 employees.





SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION: All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. All interested parties will be required to respond to the resultant solicitation separately from their response to this sources sought notice. A responsible potential sources shall have registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). The response should be no more than five pages providing the following information:






  • Specifications of the Media Blasting Cabinet

  • Business name, address, CAGE code

  • Size and socioeconomic classification based on NAICS size standard

  • If claiming a specific small business category, provide supporting documentation

  • Point of contact including email and phone number
