Project Description:
Wards Lake Park, located at 2716 84th St SW & 2511 88th St SW, is undergoing Capital Improvements for ‘Phase 1’ renovations including open space and trail restoration, installation of a pump track, entry plaza, dog park, circulation paths and pedestrian bridge spanning Wards Lake, site furnishings and parking improvements. In accordance with federal grant funding through National Parks Service for Phase 1 renovations, an updated Environmental Assessment for NEPA has been submitted to the National Parks Service for review and public comment. Following the previous comment period for the NEPA assessment, a letter of Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) has been issued by the United States Department of the Interior, and can be found at the following link.

30-day Public Comment Period:
May 9th, 2023 Comment Due Date: June 8th, 2023

The public are invited to comment on the FONSI decision by the National Parks Service. Comments must be in writing and received at 6000 Main St SW Lakewood, WA 98499 by 5 P.M. on June 8th, 2023. A physical copy of the FONSI letter is available for viewing at the City Hall front desk or by submittal of a Public Records Request.
